As many of you may know, the ADC 1 entrance of pavers is a special place members can memorialize family members that also belonged to the BAC.

Today  we had the honor of installing two memorial pavers by Ralph Affrunti, former President of the Chicago and Cook County Building Trades and 24 year BAC member, and his mother-in-law Dominica (Minnie) Meneghetti.

The first paver installed was in honor of Ralph Affrunti's grandfather and namesake: Ralph Affrunti 1902-1984. Mr. Affrunti was a BAC Tuckpointing contractor who did a lot of work in the DePaul area. Ralph would bring his crew home for lunch every day and he and his wife Angelina would feed them.

The next memorial was in honor Ralph Affrunti's father-in-law and BAC Terrazzo member Ralph Meneghetti 1929-2013. His company was called Capitol Terrazzo and for over 30 years he kept our members busy.

2022 R.E. Shepherd College Scholarships Awarded

Robert E. Shepherd was the President of the Ceramic Tile Layers Local 67 and later selected to be the Vice President of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers.

In-Person Union Meetings Resumed

We are happy to announce that we have resumed in person Union meetings. All meetings will be held at the union hall at 660 N. Industrial Drive, Elmhurst, Illinois.

Robert E. Shepherd Scholarship

The R.E. Scholarship Fund was established in 1977 to honor one of the founding fathers and most influential members of the Ceramic Tile Layers Union, Local 67 of Illinois. Holding the highest position in the local union and named a Vice-President of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers, his vision was instrumental to the growth and success of the union movement. This scholarship continues his legacy of helping proud union families prosper.
